We mount TVs in houses, apartments, and businesses across Lexington and the surrounding towns. Flat price up front, no hourly meter.

TV mounting starts at $99. You get the full price before any work begins.

Shade Mounting installs wall mounted TVs in homes, apartments, and businesses throughout Lexington, KY. Standard installation starts at $99 for screens up to 55 inches and $129 for screens over 55 up to 85 inches. Final price depends on TV size, wall type, whether you have a mount, and how much cable tidying you want.

What is included in a standard install

Every TV mounting job includes the same core work. There is no basic tier that leaves you to finish the job yourself.

  • Locating and marking the studs, so the mount carries the load properly
  • Mount fixed level and square to the wall, checked with a level rather than by eye
  • TV lifted on and seated correctly, with a second person for larger panels
  • Picture confirmed working before we leave
  • Cables dressed neatly down the wall and tidied at the bottom
  • Packaging and debris taken away, and the floor left as we found it

TV sizes we mount

Pricing follows the size of the panel, because bigger screens need heavier mounts, more careful stud work, and usually a second pair of hands.

TV sizeStarting priceWhat changes
Up to 55 inch$99Single person install in most rooms
56 to 85 inch$129Two person handling, heavier mount hardware
Larger than 85 inch$279Oversized panel handling and full cable management

We do install screens larger than 85 inches, including 98 inch class panels. Those jobs get quoted individually because the mount, the wall, and the lift all need checking first. More on large TV mounting.

Do you need to buy your own mount?

Most customers already have one, often in the box with the TV or bought alongside it. If you have a mount, bring it out and we will use it, as long as it is rated for your screen.

If you would rather not work out which one to buy, we can supply and install a quality mount rated for your TV for $100. That is a fixed add on, not a starting price.

Not sure which type you need? The honest answer for most living rooms is a fixed mount, and that is usually the cheapest option too. Our guide to fixed, tilt, and full motion mounts walks through when the more expensive ones are actually worth it.

Wall types we work with

Most homes in Lexington are drywall over wood studs, which is the straightforward case. We also work with harder surfaces.

  • Drywall over wood studs, the standard case
  • Drywall over concrete or block, common in basements
  • Brick, using appropriate masonry anchors
  • Stone, which needs the anchor points chosen carefully
  • Plaster and lath, found in older Lexington homes
  • Metal studs, common in apartments and newer builds, using toggle hardware rated for the load

Brick, stone, and plaster may add a small charge, because they take longer and use different hardware. You will hear that number before we start, never after. Full detail on each wall type.

How the installation goes

  1. You send the details. TV size, wall type, and a photo of the wall if you can. That is usually enough for a firm price.
  2. We send a flat quote. Most go out the same day. The number includes everything discussed, so there is no end of job surprise.
  3. We schedule a time. Evenings and weekends are usually available.
  4. We install. A typical single TV takes about an hour. Larger screens, harder walls, or full cable runs take longer, and we will have told you that in advance.

What to have ready

Nothing is mandatory, but these make the appointment quicker.

  • The TV unboxed if you can manage it safely, though we can do it
  • The mount out of its box if you already have one
  • A rough idea of the height you want, though we will advise
  • Furniture moved a couple of feet off the wall if it is heavy
  • Any device you want connected, such as a soundbar or streaming box

Common questions

How much does TV mounting cost in Lexington?

Standard mounting starts at $99 for TVs up to 55 inches and $129 for 56 to 85 inches. Screens over 85 inches or full wall setups start at $279. Supplying the mount is a fixed $100 on top. Brick, stone, and plaster may add a small charge.

How long does a TV installation take?

A single TV on drywall usually takes about an hour. Add time for masonry walls, oversized screens, above fireplace placements, or a long cable run. We tell you the expected time when we quote so you can plan the day.

Do I need to be home during the installation?

Yes, someone over 18 needs to be there. You will want to confirm the exact height and position before anything is drilled, and we would rather you approve the placement than guess at it.

Can you mount a TV in a rental or apartment?

Yes, and we do it often. Check your lease first, because some landlords have rules about wall fixings. A standard mount uses a small number of holes that patch easily when you move out. More for renters.

What information do you need to give me an accurate price?

TV size, the wall material, whether you already own a mount, and roughly where you want it. A single photo of the wall answers most of that at once and is the fastest route to a firm number.

Can you hide the wires?

Yes. We run cables in white surface raceway that can be painted to match your wall, so it reads as part of the room rather than a cable. We do not cut into walls to run cable inside them. How we handle wires.

Ready to get your TV mounted?

Send your TV size and wall type and you will usually have a flat price back the same day. No site visit needed for most jobs.
