Soundbar Installation in Lexington, KY
Almost always added to a TV mount, and it is the cheapest upgrade to how a room sounds.
TV mounting starts at $99. You get the full price before any work begins.
We mount soundbars directly under a wall mounted TV, level with the screen and spaced properly, and tidy the cables into the same raceway run. It is normally added to a TV installation rather than booked on its own, and priced with the job. We will connect it to your TV and confirm sound is coming out of it before we leave.
Two ways to mount it
| Method | How it works | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Wall mounted | Soundbar fixed to the wall on its own bracket, just below the TV | Fixed or tilt TV mount, where the TV is not moving |
| Attached to the TV mount | Soundbar hangs off a bracket fixed to the TV or its mount | Full motion mounts, so the bar swings with the screen |
If your TV is on a full motion mount, attaching the soundbar to the mount keeps them together. On a wall mounted bar the TV would swing away and leave the sound pointing somewhere else.
Connecting it
Two connections cover almost every soundbar.
HDMI ARC is the one to use if both your TV and soundbar have a port labelled ARC or eARC. One cable carries the sound, and your TV remote usually controls the volume. eARC is the newer version and matters mainly for higher end formats.
Optical is the fallback, a small square cable. It works reliably on almost anything and is the right answer when the TV has no ARC port. You may need to use the soundbar remote for volume.
We will use whichever your equipment supports, set the TV audio output accordingly, and confirm it is working.
Where the soundbar sits
Directly under the TV, centred on the screen, and close enough that it reads as one unit rather than two separate objects. Too far below and it looks disconnected; too close and it can clip the bottom of the screen or block the TV's infrared receiver.
If you have a centre channel or the soundbar has an upward firing driver, we will keep that clear too.
Reusing your existing soundbar
Yes. Most soundbars have keyhole slots on the back and either come with a bracket or have one available. If yours does not have mounting provision at all, it may need to sit on a shelf or console instead, and we will tell you that rather than improvise a fixing.
Common questions
Can a soundbar be mounted right under the TV?
Yes, that is the normal position. Centred on the screen and close enough to read as one unit, while leaving the TV infrared receiver clear.
Can the soundbar move with a full motion TV mount?
Yes, if it is attached to the TV or its mount rather than the wall. On a full motion mount that is the right approach, otherwise swinging the TV points the screen and the sound in different directions.
Can you hide the soundbar wires?
Yes, in the same raceway run as the TV cables. It is one tidy channel down the wall rather than two.
Will you connect the soundbar for me?
Yes. We will connect it over HDMI ARC where your equipment supports it, or optical where it does not, set the TV audio output, and confirm sound is coming out of the bar before we leave.
How much does soundbar installation cost?
It is priced with the TV install rather than as a separate call out, since it is nearly always done at the same time. Mention it when you request a quote and the number will be in your flat price.
